Description
PLAN EARLY FOR CHRISTMAS SHOPPING THIS YEAR AND GET YOUR GIFTS IN HAND, AT THE RIGHT PRICE, BEFORE THE RUSH STARTS. EXPECT SHIPPING DELAYS BETWEEN DEC 23 AND JANUARY 1. BUY WITH CONFIDENCE: OVER 10,000 POSITIVE FEEDBACKS, MANY FROM REPEAT CUSTOMERSVISIT CANYONS OF STEEL FOR EBAYS LARGEST SELECTION OF SOUVENIR BUILDINGS (click the stores logo above) Along with Bliss and Reed, the Milton Bradley company manufactured some amazing paper on wood toys back in the 1880s and 1890s even though, probably because they lasted so long, they are best known for their board games that are still produced under the Milton Bradley name today. (Note that this company has nothing to do with Milton Bradley, the baseball player, who is no where near this old!!!). This is a huge play set consisting of a pull-toy train and a really superb litho paper on wood train station that doubles as a storage box for the train and its parts. The toy is a put-together-toy, meaning you put it together, play with it, and then disassemble all of the parts for storage. To help you scale the size of the parts, the station building is 12" long, 6.5" tall and 5" wide. The station is paper on wood, The cars bodies are also paper on wood but the wheels, platforms of the cars, etc are plain wood. This toy was made in two versions -- a simple all plain wood set and this deluxe color set. There is minor paper loss on the toy, with the cars and cages being better, generally, than the station. The station shows a few tears, some small areas of paper los and PLEASE NOTE: When purchased out of Pa antique toy auction years ago, the paper seem at the ridge of the station room was totally ripped, leaving the roof in two pieces. I personally (quite well actually) color copie the roof material and applie a 1" strip across the ridge to keep the "door" that opens part of the roof in place. I can send more pics of you desire. ALSO PLEASE NOTE that this set is very complete but not totally complete. A handy person with a good router could easily create a few more train platform bases (the things that the litho paper cages, the boiler etc slide into. But as is, there are only four of those bases in the set leaving two cages without a place to ride. Is this as made or are two lost? I don't know ---- you just don't see a lot of these around to compare with. Please feel free to ask as many questions as you have and to ask for more pictures. It ain't cheap. Priority mail shipping in the USA would be $35.00 including insurance. Please email me with any questions. I will always work with buyers to combine shipping of items to save money on postage costs. I will also use parcel post or first class mail if that is the buyers preference.
