This is the most fantastic marble I have ever seen .I have been collecting marbles for many years.This marble was passed down from my wifes grandmother so I know that at least for the last 50+ years this marble has been locked away and only pulled out to show to other collectors of fine antiques. Living in Bennington Vermont the Patterson family is well known for their many collections. Some have been sold thru Glass Works Auctions of PA,  also Skinners Auctions of NY. In other words I'm trying to say they didn't mess around when it came to collecting antiques. Also STEVE SMITH the vice president of the Buckeye Marble Club, who also holds one of the largest mable shows in the country in New Philly Ohio. He has personally looked at this marble and all he could say was WOW! He also said this marble would be the talk of the show if I was to bring it. They are holding a show in Vegas next week , wish I could go!! I have taken many super zoom pics to show just how nice this marble really is. It is late 1800's never polished never played with no chips no imperfections at all. The pontil is evident on the bottom  there are a few air bubbles and the glass is very clear . It shows beautifully with original patina. The base is white with green grass, blue on the wings,black facial details. It measures 1.219inchs on a digital caliper. I hope the new owner of this marble enjoys it as much as we have. I will say I'm not going to give this marble away. It is a serious marble and should only be bid on by a serious collector. A similar marble is shown in Everett Grists book in 2004. The marble is not as nice as this one and was valued at $8000. I will be setting what I feel is a fair reserve price. This is a rare chance to own a very very nice marble.
